SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS

Last night, PPLA was front and center for the premiere of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows at the Regency Village Theater in Westwood, CA.  But we didn’t need a detective to figure out that this movie is sure to be a hot holiday ticket! With star power including stunner Rachel McAdams and leading man Robert Downey Jr. on the carpet, fans were quick to jump on board this sequel.

Director Guy Ritchie (accompanied by girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley) walked the carpet and gladly told reporters that he feels this film certainly ‘trumped the first one’. Robert Downey Jr. and a pregnant Susan Downey (expecting a baby boy as revealed recently on Jay Leno) were on hand, as well as the always flawless Rachel McAdams. McAdams, whose red carpet appearances have been sparse as of late, certainly made it worth the wait as she was radiant in a silver long-sleeved embrodied Marchesa gown with a plunging cowl back and train. In a male dominated cast, she certainly delivers the femininity and sex appeal the story needs. Not to be outdone, Noomi Rapace also looked equally ladylike in a strikingly similar gown. In fact, Rapace was almost unrecognizable from the harsh exterior of her character Lisbeth in the Swedish Girl With A Dragon Tattoo– the role that launched her to international fame.

In the latest edition, Downey reprises his role as Sherlock Holmes alongside his colleague Dr. Watson (Jude Law) to take down criminal mastermind Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris).  The film opens nationwide Friday, December 16th.
