Single Moms Planet (SMP), founded by Neferteri Plessy and Nicole Patterson, announced a month-long tennis camp for youth during Sundays in October, in partnership with UCLA Tennis and Recruiting for Good.
The event will be held at the Griffin Tennis Club in Los Angeles with tennis camps Oct. 6, 13, and 20th and a final celebration event on the 27th. The event will include coaching for youth by UCLA Tennis coach Rance Brown and SMP Tennis Staff. Families can expect to receive T-shirts, water bottles and backpacks and access to a final celebration including a pizza party.
“Playing tennis as a family creates a bond for single parents and their children. It improves their emotional well being, supports families with opening up better lines of communication, and helps develop motor skills and improved self-esteem of youth,” said Neferteri Plessy, Founder of Single Moms Planet.
The event is sponsored by Recruiting for Good, a recruiting and staffing agency which helps single mothers, including SMP members, advance in the workforce. Recruiting for Good has a referral program, and every time a successful hire occurs, the agency makes a donation to Single Moms Planet. In addition, the person who made the introduction earns one of three sweet rewards ranging from fine dining, luxury shopping, or VIP tickets.
“Long before I entered the staffing industry, I worked as a teacher. My life’s passion has been mentoring and teaching kids. In 2020, I launched a work program for kids called The Sweetest Gigs- teaching sweet skills, success habits, and positive values. I feel fortunate to collaborate with Single Moms Planet and create a meaningful learning tennis experience for kids and moms too,” said Carlos Cymerman, Recruiting Partner.
