SLAMDANCE ACQUISITION: JACK BLACK IS UNDER SPELL WITH WIZARD’S WAY

Jack Black’s Electric Dynamite has acquired the rights to executive produce and develop a remake of the British pic Wizard’s Way.

The film is having its North American premiere at this year’s Slamdance Film Festival and was written and directed by Joe Stretch, Socrates Adams-Florou and Chris Killen.

WME Global is handling domestic sales.

Black will serve as an executive producer and also help develop the property along with Electric Dynamite’s Priyanka Mattoo.

The original story follows the lives of Barry Tubbulb and Julian ‘Windows’ Andrews, who spend their time playing an ageing online fantasy video game called “Wizard’s Way.”

Black, Electric Dynamite, Stretch, Adams and Killen are all repped by WME.
