This past week, LA fashionistas got to experience what they love best…Fashion! Several designers presented their collections at venues across the city. The largest and most popular events were Style Fashion Week and LA Fashion Weekend.
Style Fashion Week kicked off on March 10th with a VIP Opening Reception at Luxe City Center. Designers, stylists, models, media and fashion lovers were invited to celebrate the awesome week to come. All of the shows for Style Fashion Week were held downtown at Vibiana. Prior to the runway shows, there was a reception outside in the garden courtyard where cocktails were served, vendors set up, DJ playing and everyone mingled and admired each other’s style choice for the evening. The runway shows included looks from: Gregario Sanchez, Beso Moda, Ina Soltani, Brigade LA, XCVI, Civil Society, Paulie Gibson, Rudsak, Hollywood Doll, Frankie & Sue, es + es kids, Quynh Paris, ASH Haute Couture, Pia Gladys Perey, Linden LA, Madisonpark Collective, Bryan Hearns, Roxanne Nikki and Michael Cinco. There was also the GO RED for Women Celebrity Fashion Show where the proceeds were donated to The American Heart Association.
We loved all of the shows but a big standout was the Blueprint Collection by Paulie Gibson. His show included dancers that really got everyone excited with their performance. Using the color blue with most of the designs, the collection was vibrant and full of prints and executed very well. We had a chance to chat with the designer and he said, “Paulie Gibson is a contemporary men’s lifestyle brand. Our goal is to outfit our stylish, fashion-forward man for all parts of his life. He has options for work, dates, work outs and his nights out on the town. My collections always reflect the goings on in my personal life. I feel like I am literally building a life for myself…building my future. It was important for me to really feel the optimism in those emotions and it caused me to create BLUEPRINT for Fall 2013. It literally helps a man to build a wardrobe that reflects his busy, active and often hectic lifestyle. It’s my interpretation of what’s so wonderful about fashion – how it functions in real life and how to be expressive through ones apparel. I’m so proud of this collection and its presentation at Style Fashion Week. Paulie Gibson is a lifestyle…and I’m so excited for the future.”
To end the week, LA Fashion Weekend was held at Sunset Gower Studios. This year they decided to do things a little differently. The three-day event hosted a kick-off party, runway shows by Maison de Urbana and Ermelinda Manos and the LA Fashion Weekend Awards honoring the best of the best from the 2012 season. Overall, we had a great time as usual celebrating Los Angeles Fashion! The city is full of talent and we can’t wait to see more from all of the designers in the future.
