The 31st Annual SAG AFTRA Awards Showcase the Best of Film/TV of 2025

The 31st annual SAG Awards took place this past Sunday and was filled with talented actors, artists, standout performances, and memorable moments.

Kristen Bell returned to host the notorious awards, and delivered a hilarious parody of “Do You Want to Build a Snowmen,” to honor the nominated artists. Bell emphasized the importance of honoring an actor’s journey to where they are now, which was a segway into her line “Do you want to be an actor, let’s get your foot inside the door” to the tune of the famous song.

Fans came to social media to share their opinions on the rendition with one saying, “Ate and left no crumbs with this sonologue.”

Some of the most notable awards include, ‘Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture’, ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role’, ‘Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role’, and more.

Conclave, directed by Edward Berger won for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture,’ after just receiving a BAFTA for ‘Best Film a few weeks prior.

Actor Ralph Fiennes accepted the award on behalf of the ensemble and says, “This is down to the genius of two people. It is Tessa Ross our producer, and Edward Berger our director… We had a blessed time.”

Moving forward, Demi Moore took home the award for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role,’ for her role in The Substance. This role has landed Moore now her third award for her acting skills, after winning her first award, a Golden Globe earlier this year, and a Critics Choice Award right after.

She expresses her gratitude and says….“This is extraordinary and so deeply meaningful… [This organization] gave me meaning, it gave me purpose, and it gave me direction.”

Moore was not the only actor to be celebrated for their work this year. Timothee Chalamet won the SAG Award for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role,’ for his role in A Complete Unknown. Conflicting with common predictions, Chalamet’s win came as a surprise after being nominated among other talented actors, including Adrien Brody for The Bruutalist, and his many awards he’s taken home this year.

He says, “I was not expecting this at all, truly… This was five and a half years of my life, I poured everything I had into playing this incomparable artist, Mr. Bob Dylan… It was the honor of a lifetime playing him.”

Other awards included, ‘Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series’, and ‘Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.’ These were awarded to Only Murderers in the Building and Shogun.

The 31st Annual SAG Awards celebrated phenomenal talent and the dedication behind each performance. From Kristen Bell’s fantastic job as a host, to the recognition of actors like Demi Moore and Timothée Chalamet, this year’s SAG awards was a beautiful tribute to the wonderful stories watched this year.
