The Backstreet Boys Announces Residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas – ‘Into the Millennium’
The iconic boyband, The Backstreet Boys are coming to the Las Vegas Sphere for the ‘Into the Millennium’ residency, for nine shows in July.
The official Backstreet Boys Instagram made the announcement and said, “We’re heading ‘Into The Millennium’ once again! Relive your Backstreet Boys Y2K memories, but this time… LARGER THAN LIFE at [The Sphere Vegas] starting this July!”
The Las Vegas Sphere is a newer music venue, with technology that promises to bring any album to life! In fact, it is known for providing audience members with an immersive, visual environment, ensuring that fans will be taken back to their Y2K days. These shows will anticipate the rereleasing of their hit 1999 album, ‘Millennium.’
“What started on May 18, 1999 continues today. Our new album, Millennium 2.0, is now available for pre-order and drops the first day of our ‘Into the Millennium’ residency at Sphere Las Vegas,” says the band on Instagram.
The re-recording will feature remastered versions of original songs from the album, six demos which will include a new version of hit song, “I Want It That Way,” six live tracks from the album’s first tour, and a brand new song titled ‘Hey!’
Fans everywhere are ecstatic to hear the new version of a beloved album! Some shared their excitement to X and said, “So many memories involved! Such a beautiful moment and day to be your fan.”
Others have shared about the nostalgia that the album brings back. One fan shared on X, “The culture needed this moment! I needed this moment. I bought this album with some of my 5th grade graduation money back in 1999. I played it over and over and know the whole album by heart to this day! The memories!!!”
Tickets for the “Into the Millennium” residency will be available for an artist presale now, until February 17th at 10 p.m. PT. Fans can also purchase tickets through Vibee ticket and hotel packages, with fan club pre-sales beginning February 18 and other general sales to follow.
