Many of use grew up to Jim Henson’s The Muppets. Well, now they are back….and Kermit the Frog and friends mean business in this newest take. A now retired Kermit and the gang must reunite for one last show and raise money to stop the demolition of “The Muppet Theater”.  PPLA hit the green carpet to join cast members Amy Adams and Jason Segel on their opening night.

Jason Segal starred and wrote the screenplay (alongside Nicholas Stoller, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) which was directed by James Bobin and features a slew of celebrity cameos including Neil Patrick Harris, Emily Blunt, Jack Black, and Rashida Jones to name a few. The film starts out in Smalltown, USA where Gary (Jason Segal) and Mary (Amy Adams) decide to help Walter (a puppet and the biggest Muppet fan ever!) go to Hollywood to meet The Muppets while on vacation. While there, this trio uncovers the plan of oil tycoon Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to tear down the theater because he believes the property is his next big ticket. However, Tex concedes to let the theater stay if The Muppets (now retired and not all on the best terms) can reunite and raise $10million.

The creative story-lines now find Miss Piggy working as a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue, Paris, and still pining over her beloved Kermit. Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called The Moopets and Animal is in an anger management clinic in Santa Barbara. Gonzo is a high powered plumbing magnate and our lovable Kermit has become well sort of a hermit, Kermit the Hermit….that is until Walter, Gary, and Mary come to the rescue!

The latest Muppets flick promises to be a return to the kind of comedy that made Henson’s creations such a hit on both the big and small screens in previous years- just simple, innocent, exuberant fun and lots of laughs! The Muppets hits theaters nationwide November 23rd…sounds like the perfect movie for the Thanksgiving holiday.
