Creative visionary Tim Burton makes his directorial TV debut, with creators Al Gough and Miles Millar serving as showrunners of the new series from MGM/UA Television. Tim Burton will be directing a new live-action coming-of-age comedy Wednesday, based on Wednesday Addams, one of the world’s most enduring pop cultural icons. The character of Wednesday Adams has been portrayed in television, film, video games and even musicals. Wednesday has always been part of The Addams Family ensemble until now — in her first young adult television series, featuring the character center stage.

What we know about the show so far: The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore. Netflix also revealed in their announcement that we can anticpate 8 episodes in Wednesday’s streaming takeover. This is one show we definitely won’t be missing. Let us know your thoughts.
