TIM GUNN HOSTS OPENING OF FLAGSHIP WALGREENS

We all know that Hollywood is known for lavish, red carpet events. But who would think that one of those events would ever be for a Walgreens? This past weekend, the very popular drugstore chain held its grand opening of the 8000th store in Hollywood on the corner of Sunset and Vine. The event drew attention outside from tourists, paparazzi, and local residents trying to peek in to see what all of the fuss was about at Walgreens.

Well this isn’t your typical corner drugstore. This flagship location is decked out with a juice & smoothie bar, fresh, hand-rolled sushi and sashimi prepared daily, a LOOK boutique beauty department equipped with an Eyebrow Bar, a selection of over 700 wines and a machine with 130 varieties of Coca-Cola fountain drinks along with other fancy amenities perfect for the Hollywood crowd.

The red carpet was filled with A-List celebrities that came out to support and celebrate the opening. We spotted pop singer, Fergie (Black Eyed Peas); Actress, Rachel Leigh Cook; Actor, Kurt Russell; Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita (The Real Housewives of New Jersey); Erica Hubbard (Let’s Stay Together); Quinton Aaron (The Blindside); Mark McGrath (Singer, Sugar Ray); Stephen Kramer Glickman (Big Time Rush) and many more. The carpet was hosted by Project Runway’s, Tim Gunn. Tim was interviewing celebs and looking very dapper in a suit by his “new favorite brand,” Suit Supply. He was very excited about the store opening saying, “This has got to be the flagships of all flagships!” Tim went on to say, “I’m a bit of a cynic and I came with certain expectations…I’m completely blown away by the whole thing.”

Gunn recently launched a new book, “Tim Gunn’s Fashion Bible: The Fascinating History of Everything in Your Closet” and said that the new season of Project Runway (premiering January 24th) is his favorite season ever. We also spoke to Clippers star, Lamar Odom about his holiday plans with wife, Khloe Kardashian. Lamar said that “I still have some time (for a gift). I’m going to be spontaneous.” Due to their busy schedules, a holiday trip may be hard but in the summer he hopes to take Khloe to the West Indies. Lamar seemed to enjoy the new Walgreens and all of its amenities.

The store will be open 24 hours every day. We definitely suggest stopping in to see the gorgeous new space and all it has to offer!
