Top Five Movies Screening at Sundance Film Festival 2020

Sundance Film Festival is the US’s crowning glory of film festivals. Everyone in Hollywood turns out and it is full of some of cinema’s best stories kicking off the cinematic year.

The movies that have caught our attention at Sundance Film festival this year are:

  • 1) Promising Young Woman . When we read the plot description we audibly went “OH YEAH!” Followed by the cast listing?! We knew this was not a film to miss.
  • 2) Downhill. This movie is directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, who showed up to Sundance in 2013 with The Way, Way Back , a very underrated film, which is worth your attention.
  • 3) Omniboat: A Fast Boat Fantasia. This is the most random, mysterious film on the entire Sundance program. But we are so down for it! There isn’t a public trailer available at the moment, but as soon as we track one down we’ll be sure to share it. Check back for updates.

  • 4) The Last Thing He Wanted. Dee Rees owned Sundance a few years back when she exploded on the seen with Mudbound . This time she is back with another sleeper and possible Oscar contender for 2021? We will have to wait and see.
