Trends by Chance hosted its first Summer “Sip ‘N Shop” event at Park Studios, featuring an evening of fresh, eclectic fashion designers from around the globe.  Press Pass LA was thrilled to not only attend but help sponsor this event which was open to the public. Guests had the opportunity to mingle with industry elite, celebrity attendees, and enjoy an afternoon of fashion and fun!

Vendors participating included Aunt Funky’s Closet (Unique Urban Earrings & Accessories), Blackbox Cosmetics (Organic Skin Care & Cosmetic Line), Dana Blair Designs (Custom Jewelry & Accessories), Eymani Marie Accessories (Handcrafted 1-of-A kind Jewelry), Grace Adele (Handbgs & Accessories), Kandi Vision (Eyewear for the Young, Wild, & Free Lifestyle), Miche (Exclusive handbags & purses), Riley & Coco (Apparel & Jewelry), Sheer Delights, (Lingerie and Accessories), Sharon Rubenstein Designs (Jewelry Artist with Custom Pieces) and Trends By Chance who showcased their own trendy accessories! The event was sponsored by Jarritos Beverages.

Each designer was able to have their brand exposed to the Hollywood lifestyle scene and showcase their vibe, be it edgy or classic. The event allowed designers and industry executives to network, discussing how new designers can market their lines and gain exposure, and how established designers can stay competitive. The featured designs included a lot of bright trends- greens, yellows, pinks, and blues used in purses and jewelry.

We spoke with  Trends By Chance founder Nubia who started the event as a way to help promote up and coming talent in the fashion industry- talent that she feels is “often neglected in the main- stream.”

For me, the most noticeable trend was the return of vintage looks and 80’s themes which are both slowly coming back into the forefront of fashion.  Also, The Gatsby trend (spurred by the recent Great Gatsby film) is continuing and playing a huge role in a lot of these designers Spring 2014 collections.

My favorite designer of the evening was  Kandi Vision because I loved the amazing handmade glasses which featured pearls and gems in the detailing. All the designers that participated in the “Sip ‘N Shop” will be able to sell their items online through the Trends By Chance website.

With events like this, it won’t be long before Trends By Chance is a household name like sites Rue La La and Hautelook. Their innovative thinking and attention to upcoming talent will set them apart as a fashion trendsetter.
