Last night the top four performers- Chevel Shepherd, Chris Kroeze, Kennedy Holmes and Kirk Jay- of Season 15 of “The Voice” sang their hearts out and tonight we find out which performer and which coach claim victory over the season!
Each finalist performed a cover song, a duet with their coach and an original single. Check out our interviews with three of the four finalists (Kirk Jay passed on doing press) from the black carpet!
Cover Song: “It’s a Little Too Late”
Chevel kicked off the night with a cover of Tanya Tucker’s classic allowing her to showcase her sassy style and more playful side.
Original Song: “Broken Hearts”
While Chevel was recording this song, Coach Kelly Clarkson revealed that she had originally planned to record this song herself but didn’t and had been hoping to find the right talent to do it justice… Enter Chevel, who crushes this performance!
Coach Duet: Chevel and Kelly, “Rockin’ With the Rhythm of the Rain”
A country classic from The Judds. It was entertaining but Chevel’s weakest performance of the night.
Cover Song: “I Won’t Let Go”
Kirk nailed this cover of the hit Rascall Flatts song and reminded the crowd he is in it to win it!
Original Song: “Defenseless”
This song is soulful country song that suits Kirk’s strengths. He delivered a strong performance but in our opinion not as strong as Chevel.
Coach Duet: “You Look So Good in Love”
Kirk and Blake played off each other’s strengths on stage and brought both the comedy and the vocals. A real crowd pleaser!
Cover Song: “Sweet Home Alabama”
A crowd favorite any day of the week, but for us, this song felt like a play it safe move when contestants should be taking risks! Go big or go home.
Original Song: “Human”
A great message and solid melody but not our favorite original song of the evening.
Coach Duet: “Two More Bottles of Wine”
Blake and Chris is a duet we were dying to see! Perhaps it was the nerves but Chris looked a bit stiff on stage. Get the man a glass of that wine!
Cover Song: “Confident”
Kennedy seriously crushed her performance of Demi Lovato‘s hit “Confident.” Backed by a full marching band, she gave a stellar performance that had Jennifer Hudson comparing her to Beyonce! Best cover of the night, hands down.
Original Song: “Love is Free”
While Kennedy gave a great performance, we weren’t feeling inspired by this song itself. song. For us, Cheval has original song on lock!Coach Duet:
Coach Duet: “Home”
At just 14, Kennedy held her own side by side with Grammy powerhouse JHud and this was one of our fav moments of the night.
Who do you think will be crowned this season’s winner of The Voice tonight?
