Have you been watching The Bold Type?
Okay, we know, we know we’re a season late to the party. To be honest The Bold Type seemed like a younger show, without any real reach. However, after being green-lit for a second season, and airing to powerful commentary through word of mouth, we embraced sweat pants and checked out what all the buzz was about. IT IS SUPURB. No seriously The Bold Type is a sleeper hit. Filled with real situations, hard to handle social interactions, and the daily struggles of ‘making it’ as a millennial in this day and age. We really can’t gush enough about the series. The cast is diverse, and really shines a light on young women working hard towards their goals. The series isn’t afraid to tackle family issues, and relationships (in all forms). We inhaled the dynamics of romantic, business, friend, and race interactions. How to have a voice while still navigating the new avenues life opens up to you.
Here is the official network skinny on the series: Putting together a magazine is not an easy task, requiring a lot of teamwork to finish the job and get the publication on newsstand shelves. That’s why the staffers responsible for producing global women’s magazine Scarlet lean on one another as they try to find their own voices. While working together to publish each issue of the periodical, they struggle to find their identities, manage friendships and find love. The drama series is inspired by the life of longtime magazine editor and executive Joanna Coles, who serves as an executive producer.
