‘You’re Cordially Invited,’ is a new movie streaming now on Amazon Prime Video.
Directed by Nicholas Stoller, Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell star alongside each other, in this new hilarious and heartfelt romantic Comedy.
Reviews on IMDB include one user saying, “It was light hearted comedy, not forced, and the banter between Reese and Will’s characters were just amazing from the start to the finish of the entire movie.”
Witherspoon plays Margot Buckley. A sister of the bride Neve, whose wedding venue is accidentally double booked with Ferrell’s character, Jim Caldwell’s, daughter Jenni. In the film they must help their soon-to-be-married family members navigate a weekend of chaos, when they realize the two must share the wedding venue.
On the release date, January 30th, Witherspoon shared to Instagram, “This movie was so much fun to make, and I’m so grateful for the insanely talented cast and crew who brought the chaos to life. Get ready to laugh!!!”
In fact, Witherspoon’s 12-year-old son Tennessee, actually has a small cameo in the movie. She tells People Magazine that, “that’s an Easter egg!”
‘You’re Cordially Invited,’ will be the first film that Witherspoon and Ferrell have ever starred in together. “The only time I ever worked with Will was in 2001 and I hosted SNL,” Witherspoon explains when she sat down on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’ She says, “Will is human kindness… He’s the king of kindness!”
Writer and director of the film, Nicholas Stoller’s vision really came to life with this comedy duo. Ferrell sat down for an interview with the Today Show, and said “[Stoller] really pulled it off. It’s a really fun comedy that delivers a lot of outrageous stuff, and at the same time, a surprising amount of heart.”
Known for movies like ‘Neighbors’ and ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall,’ Stoller shares to The Playlist that, “Will’s character is dealing with his daughter leaving the nest, and that’s hard to process. Reese’s character has cut off her family, and while that can be necessary in extreme situations, for most people, it’s not healthy… I love writing about people who don’t realize how lonely they are.”
